The Boy who was Made of Paper

There was once a boy who was made of paper. He lived in a land full of Scissors.

He had been part of a chain of paper people that the Scissors made just for fun. His friends were sliced away ages before. Now he was the only one left.

And they cut him.

They snipped his legs so he could not stand. The Scissors slashed his ankles so he could not walk.  They chopped his wrists and gave him paper cuts.

One day he decided he’d had enough. The scissor-snips had turned into great gashes. He started to tear himself apart. He ripped away his feet that had become useless. He split his torso to pieces. He tore off his fingers one by one, and he cried.  Finally all that remained of him was a pile of paper shreds and a heart with an uneven edge.

The Scissors gathered around to stare at him, shrugged their shoulder blades and started a new paper chain.

Someone opened a window, and the boy who was made of paper blew out into the street.

A short story I wrote while in work experience. I'd had the idea for the drawing for ages, then the story came along later.
